Also the first single I ever had!  My mum and dad bought it for me when I was little, cos I liked the song and had got a gold star in school! :-)  Still love it now!  Alas, despite the presenter asserting before this performance (when the single was at No.19) that 'Black Man Ray' was bound all the way for the Top 5, alas it only climbed another five places higher to No.14 a week later, and then that was as high as it went...  In addition to several TOTP performances, the song was regularly featured on Pebble Mill At One on the BBC and during schedule gaps on ITV, was included on "Now 5", and got absolutely tons of radio airplay / MTV rotation that spring - for its time, that was one heck of a lot of publicity for a song that only got to No.14 in the charts!  Boy, I miss the 80s! :-( lol

thanks.not sure if they are still doing gigs anymore but they where just a year or so ago.they where on at the citadel in my home town of st helens.i'd have gone but i'd got tickets for another 80s gig the same night.maybe they'll come back,i'll go next time.
