Dead Kennedys & The Stooges - those are my first thoughts on influence. I tried to connect the other dot and really couldn't - so I thought of the Nuggets. More on that later. You're not ska - but people would kick to it if they felt like it. No, you're SOAD without being so harmonically melodramatic. Why should everything be about harmony anyway? You're from the Motor City. Detroit never had time for this everything flows easy in California policy - it's too fucking cold there. Guitar competition is unfortunately not very originally 'Detroit'. Nor does it make you different. It's actually a concept first introduced to punk by The Nuggets - who were a cover band from San Francisco (?) They punked out on classic because why not? So where there'd be keyboards, they'd just add another guitar. Which just sent everything in what seemed to be .. different directions. Just in case you didn't know. I'm going to assume you probably do, though. No offence meant; Lenny Kaye played for the Patti Smith band and, ironically enough, LOVED DETROIT (much like everyone else who knows where punk really comes from). Competition for focus is great for me, anyway, I can't for the life of me concentrate on anything as it is! Fucks people over until they realize it makes absolute sense to tear it all apart (especially when it ends up sounding way better). I hope you stop trying to call yourselves "Artistic whatnots' eventually. Every band is 'artistic'. At least the ones that matter. Much like people, music without art is Sociopathic. I don't like Sociopaths. Besides, why else would anyone want to uhm ... 'work at doing nothing all day'? You really do sound where you come from, I guess is what I'm trying to tell you. For me, that's really not a bad thing. Anyway, I'm going to retire now and if I still have your song in my head tomorrow, I'll see what I can do to invest in it. Remember the remember. G'luck!
