Bill wasn't fired— Bill left to focus on his solo career, a career he never really left behind, but also never really got to focus on. A schizm had formed between a few camps in the band and the direction of where the band wanted to go. Too many Christmas songs and too much playing the same set list night after night for 20 years. Bill was done...ironically, Lou's fresh blood has helped get the band back to writing songs—GOOD SONGS. So I think the change has really helped out both parties.

Bill Champlin was great in the Studio But Sloppy as hell on the road .Luck if he even sang all the words to a song.He has ben known to Butcher a Song in Concert.Word Finally got back to the band about how unhappy fans were about this and they Fired him.

Bill Champlin left Chicago at the end of 2008. They toured Europe and I saw them and met Bill in Paris. Bill didn't feel happy anymore in Chicago, due to a lot of musical reasons. Why he's singing the lead here, I don't know but I guess that Robert wasn't able to sing that night! I saw Chicago last year (2011) in Paris without Bill and I really did miss him!

was wondering two things. Why did Bill leave the band (if he did) and why was he the lead singer on this song? Not saying i don't like this version of the song. The song is awesome! :) Just wondering. Had never read that he's not in Chicago anymore
