I think Jason's miming bass, and the actual bass sound is coming from one of the keyboards.

Jason was still finding his footing. Check out some versions of this song from around 1990 or so. They're really on.

What happened to the 1984 live version of STAY THE NIGHT with CHRIS PINNICK on guitar and PETER CETERA on lead vocal and bass guitar, not to mention all the other versions of their songs from the 1980s?

@tcbetka Its actually Danny Seraphine. Midway through the 17 tour the band changed their look and Danny suddenly sprouted a full head ( even more than when he was young). Dawayne was a great guitar player for Chicago. He brought spark and CREATIVITY! Thats what the band was originally known for before the powers that be turned them into a ballad/retro act. Keith is good though too. But until the managers let them write new music again we'll never know what his potential is.

Great song here. I think Dwayne was by far the most technically proficient guitarist that Chicago ever had, but not the best for the Chicago vibe. They need someone with feeling and soul like Terry & Keith. I think Terry and Keith are a much better fit. Although I love trying to steal some of Dwayne's licks.....he is killer!!!!

Dawaynes guitarsolo is really good, but I think Keith is better...He has this Terry Kath style and his own style. thats what I like so much... Keith rocks!
