What gorgeous tones Twardzik rang from the piano - I was he had lived to fulfill the greatness within himself.

Here is Chet, with superb accompaniment, at his best - pouring huge passion into a gorgeous ballad, yet it is all compressed and turned down like a low flame: for me that was his genius.

''...But there was a composer there named Bob Zieff,... and I loved that music he wrote—it was so original. But nothing ever happened with. him, because it just wasn’t commercial... To me, it was really beautiful, and I hated to see him not get the recognition... he wrote a whole album for me,... After spending a lot of money, the record company decided not to release it. So somewhere, after all these years, those tapes are just lying around.''Chet Baker 1979

Just saw Chet Baker's bio on the Sundance Channel and what a musician he was! He passed away at my age of 58 and that is way too young to lose such a talented man. We lost too many be-bop greats - Sonny Stitt, Paul Desmond, and we will miss you Chet! This a great rendition of the Jimmy Dorsey tune! What emotion and feeling coming out of the bell of Chet's horn! Thanks For Remembering our Jazz Icons!
