These singers are not perfect, however they are all truly amazing at what they do. Josh is sitting there popping Ab's, Adam cranking high C's... ---- I thoroughly enjoyed this!

other than Adam Pascal, poor casting. Idina may be great in the studio, but, damn she can't handle pressure. Kerry Ellis, who is usually amazing, just didn't work for me.

Maybe it's time to stop appreciating the fine points of this performance or that; and really get down to the business of being a free people...worldwide.

Look at this: Tommy Körberg - Endgame (Live The Skellefteå Ice Stadium 1989) and then you can die happy, i promise. At around 4.10 the most beautiful note in the history of chess is sung.

One of the few times I've actually heard Idina use her freaking head voice, and thank goodness for it, because her belting is SO bad for this show.

This is unbelievable, I watched this concert on DVD two days ago and instantly fell in love with Chess. You all say that there have been BETTER performances?!?! This one was truly amazing so I can't help but doubt you all but if it can get any better and if it has in the past then it just goes to show how beautiful this musical is! I never would have considered a musical about chess...

I really think this musical is underrated. Sadly, I think this performance does not help. Josh Groban does a fine job musically, and towards the end he improves with some emotional singing. The whole thing feels flat in the beginning, gets better towards the end. Wish I could have watched the original performers on stage.

This .. sadly doesn't keep up with the original at all. There's just not the right feeling in the singers voices. Josh does a good job singing the words .. but he lacks the feeling. Sadly the two females are the worst ... the brunette (don't remember her name) really can't sing at all .. and does it even worse than Barbara Dickson. =)

The refrain is nice...the rest are a bit shrilled....

A lot of the impact of Josh's "NEVER" is lost when he doesn't join in the "Nothing you have said" bit after. It just kind of fizzes out when the women and the chorus take over and kicks back up again with "Is there no one in my life"

While the choreography is... painful, I think the reasoning behind it is to represent the Chess game, hence the black and white. And if you notice, the way the move from on color to another shows this.

I love Josh, but I still think Tommy Korberg sang this part better
