This tune was written and performed in 1930. Back then Lindy Hopping was still evolving out of the Charleston... among other dances. Don't get stuck on dance styles people. Dancing ultimately is about life, joy and soul. Being all stentorian about proper dance steps is what makes this scene (and the modern world) unfun. But if you must get all orthodox get it right... Lindy Hop dance steps were in no way codified in 1930. The Charleston is the older brother of Lindy. The dancing in this video is meant to reflect casual fun dancing...not some elitist thing... not some Arthur Murray how to Lindy course. Do you think anybody would shame you for "dancing wrong" in 1930 at the Cotton Club? They wouldn't waste their time. They were too busy living.

I can tell you as someone who knows the dancers that they did dance Lindy Hop and most of it got edited out. All of them love Lindy and that's usually what they dance.

Not a bad cover but it would have been nice if the dancers had done the Lindy Hop (although I saw one swing-out in there) instead of all Charleston to enhance this Duke Ellington tune.

The song should have been called That charleston since there was no lindy hop dancing and all charleston.
