Es una gran tonada de llanto y liberación, es como si alguien pudiera escuchar tus sentimientos, así me siento ahora.

This is def from the 1977 show... check out the other version youtube from 1972 with the amber spotlight in back of her.. I remember Georgia Holt saying she saw that performance in 72 and knew it was over and she saw it in chers eyes.

This is episode 27 of the divorced series, which is actually episode #94 overall if you count married shows and divorced shows together. Cher previously sang "Didn't We" on the married show, episode #65 dated 2/20/74. However this version show here is from the divorced show with an air date of 1/28/77.

They filed for divorce on Feb. 19, 1974. That is the date it all became public. It took a year and a half for it to become final (June 1975).

@luchalloyd - I hate to be the stickler for the detail, but I'm sure if you check with Cher, she'll tell you, the date she split with Sonny was in the Fall of '72..and she lived with him for another year, acting as though nothing happened, til Dec of '73 is when it all came apart....when she met Geffen, and when it would soon be announced that Sonny & Cher, were no more. I'm well schooled in Sonny & Cher...both the scripted, and unscripted, versions, of the story. ;-D

One of my favorite Cher performances. I wish she would record a new CD with the torch songs of the 70's that she did on ALL the shows.

@Alvin4NY Cher said that they were professional 1 year after they weren't living together. So, that means that they probably split in late 1973 or early 1974 considering that the divorce was final in June of 1975. My point is that this couldn't possibly be from The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour when Cher didn't even look or sound this way during that show.

@luchalloyd OK-Both of us are stupid, but wiser, what does the title of the Vid say? Episode Number 27, which would put them at the time of their 'un-official breakup' of around October 1972....in Vegas...and when...this show aired in around Dec. of the same year...

@Alvin4NY You can tell by the sound of her voice and the way that she looks. She sounds the same way here as she did on Cherished album. Her voice was not as mature during the Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour as it was on The Sonny & Cher Show. Her voice is definitely deeper, huskier, and more mature here. And, one of the main factors (beside having children and getting older) in her voice changing was having plastic surgery done on her nose which caused her voice to sound deeper, as well.

@luchalloyd If I had to bet money, I'd guess the airdate was in Nov of 1972

@Alvin4NY This was from The Sonny & Cher show in 1977. They were already divorced.

This Time We Allmost Made That Long, Hard Climb..... Says It All. I think Cher probably feels things much more deeply than she lets on - her singing is very emotional and honest, and often very beautiful (like here)

Wow. Never saw that one...but I do remember a story that Cher's Mom Georgia told, regarding Sonny and Cher's marriage breaking up, and saying she never suspected anything, until she saw Cher do this number, on the show. Perfect song, to fit the situation, and at one point it looked as though Cher were going to cry, singing it. The look here, is very similar to that famous Vogue photo-layout, too....beautiful. Thanks for posting...
