This is her first solo recording was the unsuccessful novelty single "Ringo, I Love You," released under the pseudonym of Bonnie Jo Mason and produced by Phil Spector.[12] Her second attempt was "Dream Baby," released under the name "Cherilyn" and written and produced by Sonny Bono. Both were released in 1964.

This is my little tribute to Cher.

It was a problem with Spector's wall of sound style recording and the limitations of mono audio capture, A lot of his early recordings sounded hollow and scratchy like this. The production sound improved over time with more money, more mics and removing the singer from the direct line of fire of the multiple musicians.
