I uploaded this video almost 2 years ago. At that time I was at a very tough point in my life, suffering from depression. I know the song was written after Chely's 'lost love' experience, but for me it's become something else. It came to represent the battle in my head between the depressed dark thoughts and the tiny hopeful voice that couldn't really wish me away. Now I'm at a much better place again and I appreciate the song all the more

Since her first single came out back in 199-whatever (I don't remember exactly) I've loved her. She's amazing. When I saw the story online that she had come out, it didn't matter. Did it change her voice? No. Did it change how I saw her as an artist? No. Did it change how I saw her as a person? Yes. She's probably the bravest person I wish I knew. The first person to do anything has to be brave. Imagine how people saw the first person who said, "I'm going to climb that huge mountain." Bravery.

this song is heart wrenching! It's a shame that society makes gays feel like there's something wrong with them because of who they love. I'm proud that she has excepted herself and is now speaking for those who are not yet at the point that she is. Beautiful way to put it in a song:)
