My favorite song ever. The last two minutes send chills down my spine everytime.

I've had the chance to see it live: it's even better.

There's a nice clip made for the song at the time on the Cheap Trick channel, check it.

Like I said, the best times I ever spent in a club. Thing was: A friend of mine's band (who had just signed a record contract) put me on the guest list for all 4 nights. I acted like I came to see them, but I came to see CT. What I didn't mention was that a year later--after they released this album--they again played the Starwood in LA for 4 nights and I went to EVERY one of those also. All total: 16 sets. All different. Even cut my band's rehearsal short so that I could shoot over there.

Hmm... There is some kind of similarity but saying they've "taken" it might be a bit of a stretch imho.

They took the opening riff from Uriah Heep's "Gyspy"!

I was one of those stunned people in the New Years Eve '77 audience in L.A. We went to see Kansas and had no idea who this opening band was, but their performance that night made believers out of us. The Ballad of TV Violence became my favorite track the following day when we bought both albums.

They should have kept the original title of this. Who cares about the complaints...just say "fuck em".

My husband had seen the same line up in 1977 as well in San Diego. He said "People were stunned by Cheap Trick and kept asking "Who WAS that opening act?" after the concert ended. EVERYONE was in awe. MY husband then stated "Cheap Trick blew KISS off the Stage!" I was to young to see them at the time. Looking back I wish my mom would have let me go.I was 11 then. When I met my husband i was 17 he turned me on to Live at Budokan it was love at first listen as well :)

Saw these guys open for KISS in Sudbury Ont in 1977. We never heard of them before but we all owned their catalogue from that point on. The funniest "thing" was Rick Neilsen ripped his pants at the crotch and played the entire show completely clueless. We only noticed because he was wearing red underwear!!!!! Awesome show from start to finish!!! This is from one of the rawest albums of the 70's

@getreadytowiggle1991 The decision to change producers and their sound came from the record company. Unfortunately, nothing was ever as gritty as this album. I liked their later stuff, but it just doesn't compare.
