This is a personal tribute I put together with a great deal of love, to one of the most talented musicians of our generation, Charlie Rich. This song, "Feel Like Going Home", was included on his final album, "Pictures and Paintings", in 1992, three years before he left us. This version was recorded as a demo, years earlier, and without a doubt, is the best version. It's just Charlie and his piano, doing what he loved to do, as only he could do it. He has no equals, not in this world.

Heard this after being loaned the single to learn the bass part for 'Most Beautiful Girl'. When I turned over the 45, and I played this side. I felt drained when the record finished , it says 'Gospel' from start to finish. Truly beautiful.15 years ago

It can mean both getting old and go home to your birthplace (to die) or go home to god. That dosn't mean that a listener can not get a feeling to actually go home to his or hers birthplace without actually dying. Interpretation is free, so are the awaken feelings. Yes, your correct on the meaning of this song...this came straight from Charlie's heart, he did't require any musical back-up or any gospel singers to make it perfect, although in the final cut, they were part of the performance.15 years ago
