Everybody has to make a living, so I don't mind all the more commercial tracks and takes ( some are really good). Nearly all artists did dance, hiphop, disco, whatever and since the outbreak of outdoor dining, elevator- or smooth jazz. It's hard to maintain (musical) integrity, when your kids go to college. Back in the days of Bird these were the "with strings" sessions, however if there ever was an artist who was able to keep his stature under all circumstances it's Charlie Parker. Whatever you throw at him he remains shining as the gem he is. Hear Bird soar thru "East of the sun".
