This is the first recording Charlie made of this song. It was recorded in Starday Studio in Nashville Tennessee in October 1972 as part of recording for a full LP which has never been issued because shortly after this Starday records went out of business. Only three songs of this session have been issued, one 45 containing this song backed by "Lorena Go Home" and the third song "A tombstone every mile" which appeared on a number of truck driver compilacions. This 45 (Starday 45 - 966) mentions as songwriters of this song four of the members of the band at that time: C. Moore, H. Dockery, J. Robins and L. Jefferson. On fiddle we hear Johnny Dacus. The second version of the song (Luckily without drums) appears on the fantastic album "The fiddler" on Old Homestead Records.
