Charlene - I've Never Been To Me (Live on Mornings with Kerri-Anne). This is a very weird song, apparently inspired by the sea captain from Jaws. Charlene was in Australia to promote the launch of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical.

There is nothing "weird" about this great song, whatsoever. It's a gem.

Yep - she became a mom herself. Good for her for getting that happiness.

It's not just the idiot kids who can't appreciate ... hipsters & other "urban" people like to snark away about a supposedly whiny woman who needed to tell someone how the grass didn't stay green on that other side.

I think that the lyrics is reflective of that period when women are breaking away from gender stereotype and they are starting to go out into the world to go after their dreams and have adventures that the 1950s or 1960s women would not really do. It's great that people now regardless of their gender could go out and do their thing but that wasn't the case when this song went out.

I don't normally enjoy MOR music, but this song is lyrically gritty, which makes it very good.

A song from a long time past, just popped into my head this morning, had forgotten just what a melancholy song it was, lovely

I remember this when she first recorded it and to tell truth it feels as if a few years of life has added something to her delivery

GDAMN Right!!!! Kids today don't know their azz from their mouth. With all the silly phones and mp3 mind fking electronic bs turning their brains into wet noodle. Teenagers probably think harmony, melody, and substance are brands of drugs. Kids today can't play a real instrument majestically to save their lives. The 1970's were the pinnacle of music and the last of the singers, musicians and songwriters. The youth today are nothing but bend over to government robots mommas boys and girls.

Don't worry, there is a man out there who loves you. His name is Mr. Whiskers and you can get him; and his other twenty companions from your nearest pet store/animal shelter.

So what exactly isn't a woman supposed to see? These have to be some of the worst lyrics in the history of song writing.
