personally i think she did better than jennifer hudson...or at least i prefer charice's version. except, i think charice could benefit from learning stage mannerism a bit...(not saying shes rude, but she kinda comes off like shes doing a bit too much) and she oversings ...like beyonce does. like...okay i get it, i know you can sing...but when you oversing - it doesnt sound as nice.

For a 15 year old that wasn't bad, not bad at all. Of course she didn't have the same styling and phrasing as the original Ms Holliday, and at this age Charice's voice hasn't yet developed that rich and thick texture particularly when she reaches for those high notes and when she shouts. Stylistically, I see the prevalence of a pop-R&B inspired singing and not much "soul feel" which both Ms Holliday and Ms Hudson heavily inject into their renditions of this song. Charice is still cool though. Like I said, for anyone at this age, singing this song is like a teener climbing Mt Everest. It's a tough and risky task but she pulls through. (I kinda miss her old image and persona. I wish she didn't have to go extremes like get a totally different look just to augment and emphasize her sexual orientation).
