I just don't know why they let a Filipino (not an immigrant) sing the their national anthem. But for Charice and the Filipinos, I would say it was just appropriate still since America is a liberal country. Perhaps Charice was at the height of her popularity and they can always capitalize on her popularity as well as give her the additional exposure. I just couldn't imagine a Caucasian American or an African American singing the Filipino national anthem. But just the same, Charice did well.
