This music with fresco in the back ground. surviving from forgotten churches in southern Italy or from the old Principality of Benevento would have made the music even more glorious. Many fresco are in deplorable condition. Thank you Callixtus you have all ready given life to a dinosaur.

That's true, specially the beneventan that soon dissapeared, but not the case of Sarum Liturgy that dissapeared because of the reformation in England. Sarum rite could have survived otherwise because an the council of Trent the old liturgies older than 200 years that had survived were allowed and respected. Some of them were abandoned post Vatican II like the dominican rite. :(
