Change was an Italian-American post-disco group formed in Bologna, Italy in 1979 by businessman and executive producer Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi . They were heavily influenced by legendary disco band Chic.

The band's dual Italian and American identity was a result of a production system, in which the music, excepting the vocals, were written and recorded by Italian collaborators in studios such as Fontoprint Studios, Bologna, Italy. The backing tracks were then taken to the USA where vocals were added by American performers, before being mixed into finalised versions in major studios such as the Power Station in New York.

There first single was the million seller "A Lover's Holiday" featuring the ad lib stylings of Zachary Sanders, known then for his work on Schoolhouse Rock. The follow-up hit from there album, "Searching" and the title song feature lead vocals by Luther Vandross who had yet to come to prominence. The songs combined spent 9 weeks at No.1 on Billboard's Club Play Singles chart, enough to make it the No.1 Disco album of the year and a million seller in the U.S. The success of "Searching" and "The Glow of Love" exposed Luther's voice to mainstream and eventually led to a successful solo career starting in 1981.

I have to make another comment on this video. The skinny keyboard player next to the female singer looks like a Gay worm in forbidden heat. The guy playing the drums, looks like a reject from a wanna be chocolate prince band. One dude sharing lead vocals is wearing a Government funded Mall suit, and he's doing the Fred Sanford heart attack dance(whack). The guitar players and bass player look like band members from a tragic metal funk band called ''Oh Shit''. And the tall doofy keyboard player looks like a victim from a homless shelter. Look at his shoes. Not good.........

I never heard of this group until recently. This song should have been HUGE in the 80's! Sounds like something that the S.O.S. Band would do.

Regardless on if they "copied" Chic or S.O.S., they still brought the funk. They managed to take those templates and make some hits. This song is amazing...simply put
