Whitney Houston was talked up by Clive Davis at 19. He talked about her savy and soulfullness at a young age and i'm down with it but after hearing Chaka here, at the same age WOW WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!! Her range and control over every note and melody is unworldly at a drop of the hat [top and bottom] just raw ass come on with it CHAKA BABY!!!!!!!!!

I boght this album on a whim. I'd heard none of the songs on it. I bought it, played it, and thought, "This young lady's voice is like none I've ever heard, or probably never will." (?Was I right, or what!) This was even before the "Rags To Rufus" album with "Tell Me Something Good."

this is one of the best things ive ever heard her do. i remember hearing this in the 80s what i like most is the arrangement. all the stuff going on behind her is SO phenomenal. they change it up like 4 or fives times. whoever arranged it was in the zone. slow down, picj it up, slow down, pick it up just on fire i love her gospel style intro, and the hammond organ.
