"Rainsong" Lyrics:

In the cab of

The black pick up

We stuffed each other in

And all the sheep were

In the bed and

Like us they were shivering

But it's alright if it rains inside tonight

We'll be lined up in our slickers against the wall

And if the wind dares the roof to just cave in

We'll be tied up to each other good and strong

Up the dirt road

We pulled over

To check inside the hood

Mom looked at dad just shaking' her head

He swore the engine was still good

But it's alright if it rains inside tonight

We'll be lined up in our slickers against the wall

And if the wind dares the roof to just cave in

We'll be tied up to each other good and strong

'Cause it's alright if it rains inside tonight

We'll be lined up in our slickers against the wall

And if the wind dares the roof to just cave in

We'll be tied up to each other good and strong

And if the wind dares the roof to just cave in

We'll be tied up to each other good and strong

This song is a beauty. Check out "Our Lives Our Time" By Chad. 3 years later, same magic.

Very emotional song about love in the face of adversity. The simple lyric recounts an apparent experience in a terrible storm and literally holding tight to loved ones as the way through. Simple yet profound. The music is a lullaby in counterpoint to the danger implied by the lyrics. Like much by Chadwick, this song defies any particular genre but stands very much on its own.
