That would seem to be the sexual subtext of the matter; the fact that it NEARLY resembled female reproductive anatomy. If you desire artfully rendered depictions of human vagina in watercolour and/or oil on canvas and gouche,look for Georgia O'Keefe(she also enjoyed creating paintings and illustrations of doors,and animal bones! how fascinating!).
