Just getting to see this comment :- / I love Wild Nothing! Certainly some elements of Shoegaze there, although I don't know how they categorize themselves. Going WAY back to the best and the oldest true Shoegaze bands, you'll want to check out British shoegaze pioneers like Ride, Chapterhouse, and Slowdive. Moving forward, you'll want to sample some The Jesus and Mary Chain. More recent ones (besides The Radio Dept. & others already mentioned) would be groups like Bishop Morocco & Amor Fati

Sounds a lot like their tune "Lost." Recognized them immediately as I watched the film. Great soundtrack...and strangely, almost EXACTLY like Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" soundtrack (same person choosing the songs, perhaps?)...Both soundtracks contain songs by Dustin O'Hallaran, M83, and The Radio Dept. Awesome. The "shoegazey" Mary Onettes fit right into that palette...
