Censorship in the music business - (PMRC 25 years, Walmart US) video free download

Interviews with artists: James Hetfield, Dee Snider, Scott Ian, Flo Rida, Akon. Talking about censorship in the music business before and now. The PMRC in the 80's, and the Walmart-stores now. The situation now is that Walmart sells more than 80% of the CD's sold in the USA, but they refuse to sell CD's with the "Parental advisory"-label. This makes some artists alter their lyrics, so that they can sell their products in Walmart-stores.

The interviews are in English and the commentaries are in Norwegian. From the Norwegian TV-show "Lydverket" at NRK, 2009.

If I was a musical artist, I would release a beautiful album full of love and great songs and making heavy use of words that are often censored. Then I would make another album filled with rage and hatred, sexism and racism, but in that one I would use only G-rated words and phrases.Lets see if we can get the warning sticker on the right album.

The PMRC may identify as Liberal, but Liberal's do not agree with them. The PMRC were perpetrating socially Conservative beliefs, regardless of their political claims.

Scott Ian is so right... Freedom means nothing to me, as long as there's a P.M.R.C!

Akon,You want cheap music,You got it! Dont feel bad for downloading it for free,Its made cheap,The guy that runs the protools program gets paid more than any musician. If any at all On the recording. The only thing recorded is the vocals,And they are not totally human. So I do not think they should make money on the sales of the computer generated music.Money should be made with live performances and corp.sales to use it.Until they put money into it,No money out of it!Download away! I do.

@jacobladders I'm afraid you misunderstood me. I was speaking out against individuals who were censoring themselves, which is precisely what the PMRC aims to do. I was enticing individuals to take a stand and say what they really mean without holding back. Once more, I boldly state: FUCK THE PMRC!

@TheMattTrivium those 9 of 10 people in your class dont listen to real hip hop with emotion they listen to the hits, you like metal dont you ? imagin a world where someone would say metal suck becuase of limp biscot green day and blink 182.. there are plenty of hip hop artists that will blow your mind dude. and why does it matter if the music suppresses woman ? every woman gets suppessed by a man and every man gets suppresses by a woman its poetry .
