Wow, what a syrupy version of a song about departure or death. One of the prettiest but saddest songs on earth. Even Ed Sheeran figured out it was a pretty good song and did a better job.

The first time I saw "the girls" was on public television in 2004. I was entranced from the start. Don't miss a CD or show. Hated to see Lisa go. Here' s hoping another great 10 years.

A question. Why does this always seem to be a 3 part harmony for females but a 4 part for males?

While I love this beautiful rendition of this song, it takes away from the whole meaning of the song. Due to the whole big show theme to it.

They are just a wee bit to perfect and plastic for me too. I think their music IS pre recorded and they lip sync. I'm a musician myself and have sung on stage since age 5, and I taught voice for several years. CW have talent don't misunderstand me, just a bit phoney. The dresses do remind me of my senior prom!

I can understand the criticism, their show-style is (certainly not porn, you ever watched porn, john G? ;)) a little disney-barbie. I think it takes away from their really good voices. I would prefer a pure and straightforward delivery. But well, they are successful, so it works. Many people like this style, so the end justifies the means.By saying this I don't mean to look down on their fabulous singing abilities in any way, thats a different matter and has nothing to do with the choreography and design of the show. The arrangements are also very good, absolutely nothing to complain there.

John G., I had practically every album the Clancy Brothers (and Tommy Makem) ever made and could sing the words and melodies by heart, even some of the Gaelic songs. Around St. Patrick's day I went with friends several times to see and hear them live at Carnegie Hall in NYC. I loved them, and wish they were still around. They were much more authentically folk singers with their simpler, rougher, more "authentic" versions of Irish ballads, sea chanties, songs of rebellion, drinking songs, etc. They ended every concert with "The Parting Glass." But that doesn't mean that I don't love the Celtic Woman too, with their highly arranged, orchestrated, harmonized versions of Celtic music. Despite their quite different style, I find what they do quite beautiful and often thrilling. There's room in my life and in the world for different approaches to beauty, as there's more than enough ugliness around.

this song is beautiful and gets me choked up every time i hear it. Assassin's Creed IV was the first time i heard this song. Sung by a well known Female Pirate "Anne Bonny"

Old sexist geezers like you John G should keep your unkind comments to yourself and not post them on the www.Those beautiful talented women aren't "chicks in prom dresses"...they're Celtic Woman. Go back to your cave and shut the door behind you.
