About Sharon and her music

In a world rekindling its fascination with myth and magic, Sharon Knight feels right at home. The San Francisco-based Celtic songstress casts her own brand of enchantment with her collection of original and traditional songs. Sharon has long been inspired by the fierce and passionate spirit of the Celts, and this is reflected powerfully in her music. Her latest release, Song of the Sea, features lyrical tales of muses and sirens, magical spells, pirates, phoenixes and otherworldly heroes. Song of the Sea evokes the indomitable spirit of the Celts and reminds us we can all view the world through the eyes of enchantment. Fans of Stevie Nicks and Loreena McKennitt will find musical kinship with Ms.Knight's shimmering vocals and lush instrumentation, while Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter devotees will resonate with the mythic themes evoked by Sharon's vivid poetic imagery.

Sharon's music stems from a deep desire to live in a more magical world - by magical, she explains, she means "possessed of a deep sense of connection to the earth, seeing the world as alive and interconnected, and having an awareness of subtle energies as yet unseen by the human eye." The current upwelling of interest in myths and magic excites her, for she feels the cultural climate has never been better for her artistic vision to flourish.

Where Celtic Enchantment Meets Mystical Chill

The ancient and the modern meet once again in this entrancing Celtic atmosphere as acclaimed artists and rising stars come together in a mesmerizing new set mixed by the Gordon Brothers (Buddha-Lounge, Hotel Tara). Instrumental and vocal pieces transport you to a mystical land where standing stones are shrouded in fog upon emerald green hills. A mood of graceful beauty unfolds in this collection making it a perfect choice for reading, working, or daydreaming.

Judas priest. In my country things are so screwed up that rappers are thought of as musical geniuses. And in your country the dudes wear dresses and are obsessed with singing about that Danny boy while the women fondle each other! What a totally screwed up world!

it's a good song & a great vid. 'Celtic' is not easily defined - well, the lyrics are based in celtic belief, There's no pibgorn, crwth or bagpipes admittedly but then how many so called celtic artists play these instruments? Celtic music isn't always about girls in floaty dresses being fae and ethereal! As for Druids - 'bout as Celtic as you can get! coraclewoman

I love this song...I repost it to FB at least once a month. It may not sound like a traditional Celtic song, but I can totally hear and feel the Celtic inspiration in both the music and the lyrics. It is a beautiful song that spoke to my soul. Those of you who are making negative comments, obviously do not understand the Celtic way of life or spiritualities. I think the did a great job in capturing the essence of this in this song. ♥

Seems like she was striving for something mystical/celtic but does not add up. Seems very choppy when comparing instrumental with vocal...lovely overall though...just not polished. Again Its a lovely start.

This song is awesome, doesn't matter what anyone says. Some of the comments are just rude and distasteful. Goes to show the number of children left alone to troll on youtube.
