Band: Celtic Frost

Album: Morbid Tales

Year: 1984

~ Lyrics:

You are blind - Deny the sun and light

Whose are the objections - From where come the doubts

Evidence of infinity

Procreation of the wicked

Twist of the known

Procreation of the wicked

Serenades of opposition - Absurdity, humans fate and hope

True reflections of community - Procreation of the gods and lords

Evidence of infinity

Procreation of the wicked

Twist of the known

Procreation of the wicked

Cain and Abel's love and death - Love and hate is what we are

Dagger and grail are- Fallen of the altar

Evidence of infinity

Procreation of the wicked

Twist of the known

Procreation of the wicked

"Mysteries of perversity"

"I've killed this old man, because he limped

I've done it because he shouldn't have to do it"

If god raised the abyss - you'd procreate your own

Abolism of death is - Abolism of life

Evidence of infinity

Procreation of the wicked

Twist of the known

Procreation of the wicked!

If it is of interest to someone, the lyrics are entirely based upon the Chapter "Mysteries of Perversity" from the book "Keys of the Mysteries" (by the Qabalah writer Eliphas Levi; translated by A.Crowley). Many lines are directly extracted from there, but paraphrased. The loose concept is about Human balance set between Life (light/love/justice) and Death (evil/injustice/hate) attitudes, which struggle like Eros and Anteros, Cain and Abel inside us ("Cain and Abel's love and death - love and hate is what we are.."). The first attitude is the source of intelligence and involves the dilemma of a moral choice. The second is driven purely by instincts, senses, desires. There is a Spirit of Perversity (embodied by Satan) which pushes to The Death side. Those who are completely embraced by it are The Wicked, down-right perverse. When they usurp authority, they procreate their own twisted rules and ideologies for community ("true reflections of community - procreation of the gods and lords"), supported by their brainwashed followers, the wicked as well. Others are destined to serve and their opposition is wothless ("serenades of opposition - absurdity, human fate and hope"). Worthless, until the servants are voluntarily subjugated by the Death attitude themselves ("deny the sun and light - from where come the doubts") to resist brutally. This culminates in the endless conflict between the oppressed and the mighty, which leads to wars, riots, revolutions, racial hatred etc. And marks very slow, but very confident annihilation of civilisation and the mankind.(Btw, that phrase "I have killed this old man because he limped.." is a modified line from that Chapter "I killed the old man because he squinted, I did it because I ought not to have done it". It refers to this 100% Death attitude of a deranged sociopath, not able to control his senses.)The whole concept is of course arguable and derivative of Judaism/Christianity "black and white" philosophy, because in reality a cynical, cruel person can easily command his desires and even be just. But if you look on what happens in the world right now, it is not that far from truth.

I prefer the slower version from triptykon, toms follow-up band.Does anyone know where to get a studio recording of that triptykon version of Procreation? Or a really good live recording. You'd really make my day.

Can some one please explain to my why Morbid tales lasting 46 minutes with 11 (or 12 i cant remember) tracks is considerd a EP but Bathorys self-titeld with 9 tracks (not including "Outro") Lasting 27 minutes is considerd an album.
