Avec Toi means "With You" The song is very poetic and can be interpreted in many ways. The song is very passionate and conveys how one wants to cherish and eat up all the fruits and joys and sorrows of life. Its basically a song about how someone loves another and wants to share their life together. The lover also proclaims that her love is a dreamer and pure, even though he is among the wolves and that is why she loves him against her will and he loves her against all (odds). Although their love is pure and ideal, she is only human and she admits her love is not only pure but also has the pleasures of the flesh. She wants her lover to renounce his life and do crazy things to basically change his whole life, but she is afraid if she insists on this, she might lose him. This song is clearly about a young Celine singing about Rene Angelil. Although they may have not even have admitted it to anybody else, Celine already had her eyes on Rene. Rene's wife Anne Rene sensed it too and had already divorced him prior to this album being released in August 1985 and recorded earlier in the year when Celine had just turned 17 years of age. Celine is pleading to Rene through this song for him to at least privately admit his love for her and she's thinking "what are you waiting for? Although Celine is the one who initiated the relationship, she eventually sensed in her heart that he too was beginning to fall in love with her! To his credit, Rene resisted her discreet advances and kept it professional until 1987 and her songwriter Eddy Marnay 100% knew about it. In the last few phrases of the song "But I love you too much to lose you someday so I tell you "that if you want to stay good, I will be good too."
