Hitchhiking, that's how I used to get around quite a bit, but I haven't done that in 20 years and it can be a dangerous thing to do as well. I used to be wary of cops or a car/truckfull of ppl (especially when there's mostly or all guys in the vehicle) when out on a highway hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere, but thankfully I didn't have any serious situations.
