Catoire's "Elegy" is such a lush and ravishing piece! Had Catoire not run afoul of the the Rimsky-Korsakov clique, had the Soviet Ministry of Culture later approved reprints of his scores, and had Catoire himself performed and promoted his own works during his lifetime, he would probably be famous now. He was a superb Late Romantic composer.
