Cate Le Bon is a singer-songwriter from Penboyr, Wales, now based in Cardiff. She sings in both English and Welsh.This is a track from her forthcoming release, Mug Museum. This reminds me a lot of Slapp Happy, if Dagmar Krause had been Welsh. Even if not. Which she wasn't. I think it's fab so I made this little video with sweet 1970's skateboarders to go with it.

Something hypnotic and unusual about the time signature on this one that keeps you hooked...6+8. Glad to have discovered this last night on Radio 6, Mark Rilley in session. For me, echos of Dagmar, Nico, The Mekons, and The Wouldbegoods in there but very unique too. Will def be getting Mug Museum.

Heard this on 6Music and loved it instantly. Something about it reminds me of early Steeleye Span and also Charlotte Hatherley's wonderful Behave. Of course the Welsh accent brings Euros Childs to mind. Nice video but I look forward to an official one all the same.
