I have never been a big Cat Stevens fan, even tho I am old enough to remember him in his ubiquitous heyday... However, I got hip to this great song thanks to Widespread Panic, who have been covering it regularly since 1989.... Kudos to both artists!

@officialtigress12 ...I never addressed you. It's all subjective and it's really just misinformed arrogance considering the basis for the usage of the term evil. Religion is such a complex phenomenon and varies from individual to individual. You can't sum up people like that. It's stupidity and arrogance. Religions are spiritual. If you knew anything about Hinduism you'd understand that every method of belief is embodied -- even atheism. Brahman is the definition of togetherness.

@officialtigress12 Who are you to say that it is? I mean we both know it's a circular debate. There are as many examples as counter examples for either side. It's obviously subjective -- a characteristic of religion. You see the problem is you generalize it, it's much more individualistic. You don't necessarily dislike any religion but more the institution of the religion in question. It's arrogant to think you can have higher morals than someone else considering your basis. All I'm saying.

@bubsadoozy I don't think I stand on anything higher... I have faith in spirtuality, which celebrates the connection and likeness... not religion-- which seeks to divide. More death from religion than anything else. Assumptions are all you make. Just because someone doesn't like something, doesn't mean you know what they DO like. How do you know what my morality or beliefs are? What lies to I beleive in? You need to calm down... stop taking things personally it's clouding your judgement.

Who is he/you to think you stand on some higher moral principle to call all Religion evil? You believe in lies. outstanding song! and i don´t understand the religious comments. well i´m an agnostic person and i condemn every religious acts that aims other people. may that be women, homosexuals or people that believe in something else. just believe in yourself. there was one comment that said enjoy the music.... that´s the right thing! it´s such a wonderful song...
