Funny, I know this song is supposed to be about a gay or atheist friend, but this is a pretty good description of how Unitarians feel about Evangelicals. Not that we think they're going to Hell or anything, but it saddens us to see them tear their families apart and torture themselves because they feel they must. I'm not trying to be snarky here. I'm trying to say that even though my faith brings me into fundamental conflict with this song's politics, I believe its love is sincere.

Would you explain to me, why this god of the Old Testament( who BTW is the same as the god from the New Testament) condoned, even ordered adultery,( he was murdered for not committing adultery, and nowadays it`s a capital sin ?

First of all, if you read a little before that it says that the guy named Er, Judah's first-born son, had done wicked in the eyes of the Lord, which is why he died. And second of all, Onan didn't listen to his father (Judah). Judah sent his son, Onan, to Er's wife because Er had died doing evil things and he didn't have a child yet, so it was now Onan's job to fill in for Er as firstborn and help his family line continue.

Did you ever read the bible from cover to cover ? Then you should know, that there is lots of immorality, brutality, slavery, murder, anger, jealousy , rape etc, in the bible.

It shows that it's credible because all the people that wrote the Bible are different; they all have different thoughts, but yet the Bible is still able to stay on topic and on the same main point. And how is it a "manual for immorality and disregard for human life"? If you have ever actually read the Bible you would see that it's AGAINST immorality and it is written about being saved! It tells you the way to live a life free of sin which will save you in the end. What kills people is THEIR sin!
