Here's one of my fave CFTPA songs that I noticed wasn't on YouTube yet. No video... just the song. From 2001's "Pocket Symphonies for Lonely Subway Cars".

Lyrics:

You say you don't want me coming around anymore

You sit in the window, you won't answer the door

The phone rings and rings

You won't let me bring you things anymore.

There are 26 steps to your door

But I won't be counting those anymore

I've got 17 seconds in my room tonight

And when that's over I've got faith

So all right, all right all right all right.

I burned all the pictures

I let the letters loose

taped over the mixes

and cut the noose.

There are 26 steps to your door

But I'm not counting anymore

But I'm not counting anymore

I'm not counting anymore.

<3 I'm humbled by this song. It's one of those songs that as a songwriter --makes me want to quit. Beautiful.

I know they're not similar musically at all. I was mainly speaking lyrically. David Gedge and this guy write about different facets of love and loneliness. I've heard a lot more of them now and I don't necessarily agree with my prior statement. Wedding Present is one of my all time faves and I don't think anyone can compare with them. I'm still a gigantic fan of CFTPA though...

Really, this doesn't remind me of The Wedding Present in the slightest. What Wedding Present tracks can you draw a comparison to?

@themadscientest Believe me, it was a compliment. Bubble Gum is a good thing in some cases. It's just a phrase really...There are great bubblegum songs from the 60's and all the way through today, but the more I've listened to this band, I wouldn't describe them as bubblegum...I was merely saying that compared to Wedding Present, they are I guess. Anyway, I think we can both agree that they are great.

@31makimba bubblegum? why? why? why? why? bubblegum is like fucking justin bieber and meaningless crap! this is just someone pouring it out over some of the best "lo-fi" electronic ever made.

@Stalfos212 It's not a band. It's one person.

This band reminds me of a toned down, bubble gum version of Wedding Present. Incredibly powerful music we got here.

There is something Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side about this whole guitar riff if you ask me ;-)
