I've seen Carrie progressively get better and better over the years. Last year I saw her live and was blown away. She had turned a corner in her live performance and was amazing. So proud of everything she and her band have accomplished.

I have given up trying to classify Carrie’s music.I wonder about her lack of big commercial success though. But just because I love her doesn’t mean the pop, glitter, and young crowd is going to. Quite honestly I enjoy the smallish crowds she gathers on her tours. I get to enjoy a chat or hug from her. I wish her all the success she wants though. She is a great artist and a genuine person. Hopefully see y’all at a concert or two.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, not totally but I really do not feel she is mainstream. Country or folk, both came from the same idea of telling a story of love, family and work through music so who cares. We should just let it be what it is.

She is talented in her musical skills but I have to say that Carrie's music is made to sound pretty, crossing more country than folk, esp. her singing style. I personally do not find her music authentic & I cannot claim that her music moves me on a deep level, being mainly about relationships and friends, etc... I guess that is what sells. She should try to explore other musicians on an international level to help give her a broader base and not worry about sounding too pretty or mainstream.
