Surprised and saddened to hear about Doug. He gave me a few vocal lessons a couple years ago. Singing in front of someone with his credentials made me nervous as hell, but his kind words gave me a confidence boost no one else ever could have. Thanks Doug...RIP.

R.I.P. Doug Strawn, a great music man in his own right, and an unforgettable member of the Carpenters team in their heyday. Now with Karen and Tony, the band up there keeps getting better, down here ... not so much.

Rest in peace, Doug. You were a good guy and a great musician. I will always remember the events that I did with you at Disney World. You were the best emcee in the business. God bless you.

Wow, what a great clip. Not only is Bob at his virtuoso best on sax (though my favorite was his flute playing, he was a fine all-around woodwind man), but Richard takes a nice little rock and roll ride on the keyboard. I had never seen this clip before, what a find. Thanks.

What a dynomite performance. Never seen any other group member do this. Strawn is GREAT. But that was 30 years ago. Too bad.

Love this video. I have played it over and over. It's very upbeat, and love the way Karen plays the drums. Thanks.

@davidtuckisgay Doug also did a cute duet with Karen in "Cinderella Rockefella" and sang in "Johnny B. Good" during the live concerts. Quite fun!

Doug is awesome - cute as hell too, I loved watching him perform with Karen in the Aussie concert vid too. I also don't get why Karen needed to come out from behind the drums - if I'd seen her back in the day, I would have WANTED to see her in her comfort zone. The drums aren't THAT tall - this is wonderful, thank you for sharing.
