I've been looking for this song for 30 years, because I didn't know its name. All I recalled was the beautiful voice of Karen Carpenter, and a phrase "crystal clear" (sleep) in the song. It is amazing that I have found this song eventually. I will never forget the name "Crystal Lullaby". Amazing!

Again, as with Mark Knopfler videos, a year goes by between posts, and only 2 posts since. I guess the Carpenters & Mark Knopfler, (et. al.) are relegated to Rodney Dangerfield status (no respect). Anyways, the photo selection could not have been more brilliant for this song. Especially enjoyable for people like me who day dream their life away/don't like reality.

Ned: Thanks so much for posting this song. It brings back a lot of good memories, since I used to sing this to my three infant daughters each night to put them gently to sleep. I hope each of them treasure this song as much as I do!

Yeah, Richard wasn't the best vocally, and you are the first one I've seen to point out what I feel I've been hearing for years, namely, a lisp. Here comes the BUTT - You state you love their music, while chastising Richard for being at the helm - and he was. As Karen once said (not verbatim) "Richard picks them, writes, plays, & produces the songs. Other than that, he doesn't do much". I kinda think he knew what he was doing, and what suited Karen.

I disagree. Richard's voice is so bland. He has a lisp too.I think he's the reason the Carpenters were branded uncool and syrupy. He likes to take credit for being at the helm. As such, he's the reason they were considered uncool. That being said, overall I love their music. Karen was beyond words. Richard was so-so as a vocalist.
