I saw carolyn dawn johnson at a tiny little fairground in 2003. Amazing all the songs she's written! This one in particular just kills me. Two years later, my best friend of 35 years was diagnosed with bone cancer & given 3 months to live. I'd never seen an obstacle she could not overcome. To her, death was not an option & she fought so hard. There were many ups downs but she never showed just how bad things were.She always "kept her head so high!" Instead of 3 months, she lived another 7-8 year, long enough to see her grandchildren born. In the end she finally had to move into a hospice facility & died a short while later. When I found this song, it described those last months to the letter. It's hard to listen to it without crying my eyes out. It felt like carolyn knew my friend. So, to carolyn...thank you with all my heart.
