I had the great honor to meet and talk a few minutes with Carl Smith back in the 70'swhile in Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry . I knew he had a ranch nearby in Franklin Tn. and my family and I went looking and found it and he was riding his horse Mr. Real Bar along a fence line and we stopped for a few minutes and talked and took some pictures of him on his horse. Now that was worth the whole trip from Fl. He was a real Southern Gentleman and a photo still sits on my desk at home.

Thanks for posting, I got to see/hear him when he came to California, and played/sang with a Modesto High School friend of mine, Chester Smith who played/sang every Saturday nite at the Riverbank Club House...our favor hangout in the 50's
