The bigest guitar I ever seen. I saw Carl 2 times in New Orleans.Once with Johnny Cash, 1973 and later with his son on bass.He had a blue bus with a big guitar painted on the back and his name above the guitar. He was sitting by himself tuning up his guitar, but we were too shy to go over and meet him. I learned a lot about playing guitar from him. I would slow down the 33RPM albun to 16RPM and I would be able to learn it. Later I would buy a cassete player with slow down capability. I forgot who makes it. "Choker" with Eric Clapton at his best with Jimmy Page on bass was a slow down song too. Here is the link if you want to check it out. Guitar Boogie (1971) Choker (Eric Clapton & Jimmy Page)Also I remember the Johnny Cash show on TV the night Eric & the Dominos was on the show with Carl backing him up. okay. This must be the ES-5 Gibson that loved playing. Also held many other guitars. Les Paul's etc. Is that W.S. Holland on drums? Bob Woorton also there I think. Interesting band make up.

Marvin Thayer

He plays a guitar similar on a t.v. show clip d Folsom Prison in 1968.

nice piece by Carl. And an interesting gibson guitar(?). I've not seen Carl play this guitar previously. Snappy tune for sure.

@lefftycox actually, to be more accurate. Luther Perkins died in a house fire that he accidently started by falling asleep while smoking a cigarette. It was a tragedy and Luther was still young. Only 40 years old when he died. Very very sad.
