Clapton really seems a little star struck in this clip. And as much of a guitar legend he already had become, he didn't have that front man stage presence that Cash and Perkins do so naturally by this point in their careers.

Does anybody know what show this was? I can see the BBC Four dog in the corner but it may have been a clip for something earlier. I don't think BBC Four was around when this was taped, judging by Clapton's youthful looks!

If I could elaborate as far as to say what went through Clapton's mind when Perkins kicked in with his individual guitar solo the first time .. "sheezzz, this dude ain't no Keith Richards - he can play!" ..Then, what went through Perkins' mind when Clap did the next one..."sheeezzz, this kid's been doing his homework - he can play!" Before somebody gets their shorts in a bind over the Richards comment..I love the guy - a rare talent for having put together all those classic hits with Jagger ..guys like Keith are one of a kind. However, insofar as a soloist, Keith himself admits that's not his passion - nor ability. The slur about him was just a little pun. ;)
