This is music with no equal (although too many too mention have dipped their toe in the pond, trying to contrive a sound that is so unique, it can never be reproduced) ... melodies and counter melodies and rhythm and timing changes that seem barely plausible! Set against the tsunami of sound that is the Cardiacs!I discovered them in the mid 80's, then music, and my life, were never the same for me again after that. IMHO the greatest and most creative and relevant band to ever come out of the UK!and as for live performances .... I'm afraid i don't have the adjectives to describe them .. but having spent 30+ years watching and playing live gigs, i feel entitled to say without bias, nothing has touched my soul like the cardiacs did the first time i heard that beautiful sound. Nothing in life has affected me so profoundly as that event, and this world is a drab place indeed with the thought i may never experience such a moment again .... peace and love to all cardiacs people, wherever your pond lie
