The reason for buying "Cardiacs Greatest Hits" !

This was the only tune exclusive to that compilation, you won't find it anywhere else.

BTW, it's a beautiful song, and here's the ltrics (thanks Mark!)

I am about to bust all my gut to find out what you find in

Jumping over bushes howling like a dog wolf at moon time

And did they hurt him 'till he got mean mad?

It's just like people.

So, we're marking up our land with 'x's

But look out, here comes cowboy 'o'

About a mile of all of us now, dinosaurs and giants.

Laying down a-shivering.

Lonesome on the ground.

Is that belt too tight for it to spurt?

Missing collar and I.D. to help he find it.

'Hello doc, please mend my body, mend my seam'

On the ground a-shivering and scared

One of the ships hanging in mid air like it was lost

And nobody cared.

Oh how he died blubbing and whimpering and all

Shivering cold and was scared

Just like he was lost and nobody cared.

Jump he over, bust all gut, all flood lit like I don't know

It being one of the biggest doses of Holy Spirit I ever seen

And did they hurt him 'till he got mean mad

It's just like people.

So, we're marking up our land with 'x's

But look out, here comes cowboy 'o'

Roll 'em Rawhide! Brand 'em in the eye!

Alien there. So what if it dies.

Y'ain't ever gonna see it again!

Hang in air oh far too slow

I am faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Your rocket will go chase me for more than a mile 'cos

I am faster than snakes with a ball and a chain.

Light shine over all my body and about my anatomy but

Cant reach me 'cos I am faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Like my collar and I.D?

It help me show me anatomy ceremonial.

I am faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Luring me with all the people I love above all else

All flood lit I startle there all street flair.

Oh to go in all directions at once

if you have to kennel into which you crawl

You got them sweetheart.

All sprightly, business like?

Not likely.

If you move to have me buried under tons of tiny dogs

Adventures will await you

By bad lung he coughs away and

Leaves us his berry sperm wrappers left trod.

What would you have me do?

Future past and future pretty ah!

Might more affected be by one of the biggest doses of

Holy spirit I ever seen

And did they hurt him 'till he got mean mad

It's just like people.

So, we're marking up our land with 'x's

But look out, here comes cowboy 'o'

Roll 'em Rawhide! Brand 'em in the eye!

Alien there. So what if it dies.

Y'ain't ever gonna see it again!

Hang in air oh far too slow

I am faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

Faster than snakes with a ball and a chain

This is the best band in the universe and is a great reason not to kill myself. THANK YOU CARDIACS

Haven't heard this for a while, it's genius....from quite possibly the best band i've ever heard.Always wondered what would've followed Guns too.

Would have been on the fallow up to GUNS, I guess.

enough of the "influenced radiohead" or "influenced blur" comments... CARDIACS stand on their own and essentially sound nothing like the bands many posters keep mentioning.. CARDIACS don't need any comparison or name dropping, especially not to anything that started after them.. phew.. had to say it.

Superb! One of the best songs by the greatest band to emerge from the UK.

I was thinking of where I'd heard that chord progression before - have a listen to "Rhythm of Cruelty" by Magazine...it's in there

Anyone else notice that at times during this track Tim Smith sounds like the Artillery Man from Jeff Waynes - "War Of The Worlds"?

Sounds really too similar to the main riff of Just. Cardiacs are my favourite band by quite a margin and generally leave Radiohead in the dust - this is pretty petty quibbling tbh
