What great music they made and they were perfect together on stage and musically. After reading Toni's autobiography, I believe there was a lot of mutual respect and synchronicity between them regarding music. There are actually several interviews with Daryl recently and in earlier years. He is very intelligent and verbalizes his respect for Toni's talent. They worked so well together in the music venue. And they needed each other in many ways and also, kept going in their marriage and relationship for over 40 years. They are still friends and Toni, as always, was a class act in her book. She did not demoralize The Captain at all. In fact, I think he said he "admired" her after her Today Show interview. Many people don't even have what they did, so there was a lot of success there. Great, great talent.
