Cancer 1990 To The Gory EndПрекрасный образчик дэто-трэша британского разлива. Это первый альбом группы, которая начала работать с 1987 года. Канцер это вокал Джона Уолкера, который не чисто гроул и не гуттурал, а какой-то трэше-блаковый, с обертонами сиплости. Его товарищи по сцене играли внятный музон указанного направлениями — с неожиданными сменами темпа в одном сонге, с яркими гитарными вспышками пламени, с добрым мастерством и приличной уверенностью в своих силах. Как бы то ни было, имя они тогда себе сделали - это однозначно, потому что Канцер это бренд.В сообществе металархивов этот альбом в дискографии группы занимает оценочное второе место, после второго альбома «Death Shall Rise». Интересно что в некоторых странах обложка прошла цензуру таким образом, что на черном фоне осталось только название группы и альбома. Архивы информируют, что рисунок обложки базируется на сцене из фильма «Dawn of the Dead», что был выпущен в 78-ом году.

The cover on this album is actually a scene taken from the original Dawn of The Dead when Tom Savini ( playing the part of a biker ) chops a Zombie in the head with his machete!

FUCK!!! being a kid during the tape trading days I never got anything from Cancer, even though one of my idols James Murphy was a member, but bloody hell the guitars really do sound like the Beneath the Remains album, also sounds like Obituary, I can see why Carcass wanted to use a different studio, they were such a different sounding band, they would have sounded more lumped in had they recorded there..
