I guess this was the inspiration for Bioshock Infinite's "Will the circle be unbroken"?

You have to remember that this music was made at a time in America's history when life was extremely hard and in the time period where the country needed a financial boost as well, that is the time period that stretched from the 1929 stock market crash to 1938. Songs like this one from 1928 came along and reminded everybody there was another side to those bleak times, God. God was somewhat of a sanctuary for people back then, and songs like this amazing one reminded people of the hope that they could find in the church and God.

Watched by father mourn his deceased mother for the first time in front of anyone since she died two years ago while listening to this song last night. She raised him listening to mother maybelle as he did I. Good quality music can have that effect on people. Undertaker please drive slow... gets me every time.

Weirdly, I am into old songs, but this is not one I've heard, so I thought it was an original made in Bioshock Infinite, until I heard it sang in an episode of Quantum Leap, where he was playing Elvis. I think I like the Bioshock Infinite choral version best.
