I've always had the image of Virginia Woolf's suicide when I come to the end of the song. Such a beautiful and haunting tune. it's basically describing a woman who leaves her apartment building really early in the morning, when it's still dark outside, and takes the bus to the beach. in the last verse she stands there in the rain looking out at the sea, thinking about her children. then the last words, "puis plus rien", meaning "then no more", suggest that she drowned herself, but i'm not sure. i guess it's up to the listener :)16 years ago
