"Call Me The Breeze" was released in the spring of 1974 on Lynyrd Skynyrd's second album, Second Helping. This is my favorite tune on the album and also one of my all time favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. I always thought the song was written by Allen Collins and surprised to find while I was researching for the video, that it was actually written by J.J. Cale.

This is the first of several "motorcycle" or "road" songs that I've been wanting to do for quite some time and the video was actually mostly more psychedelic (you can still see the bits that remain from the original edit), but those elements/sequences fell out the more I messed with it. Really I probably should have chopped 'em all out since they now seem kinda outta place in the vid? I'll go full on psychedelic with some of the unused effects for one of the others later.

Till then....keep on "blowin' down the road"!

[Lyrics]

Call me the breeze

I keep blowin' down the road

Well now they call me the breeze

I keep blowin' down the road

I ain't got me nobody

I don't carry me no load

Ain't no change in the weather

Ain't no changes in me

Well there ain't no change in the weather

Ain't no changes in me

And I ain't hidin' from nobody

Nobody's hidin' from me

Oh, that's the way its supposed to be

Well I got that green light baby

I got to keep movin' on

Well I got that green light baby

I got to keep movin' on

Well I might go out to California

Might go down to Georgia

I don't know

Well I dig you Georgia peaches

Makes me feel right at home

Well now I dig you Georgia peaches

Makes me feel right at home

But I don't love me no one woman

So I can't stay in Georgia long

Well now they call me the breeze

I keep blowin' down the road

Well now they call me the breeze

I keep blowin' down the road

I ain't got me nobody

I don't carry me no load

Oooh Mr Breeze

Lynyrd Skynyrd Rocks, but like the man said, "Call Me the Breeze" was written by JJ Cale. I've driven down that road in Monument Valley, but not on a 'Hog.' Beautiful country. Nice work MGM!

My good friend the late Bob Burns (The one playing the drums on this) told me he got his A** chewed out good by Ronnie for that yell you hear out of him in the backgound during Billy's solo..lol. He said they could have edited it or re-recorded the track...Kooper liked it and left it in there.

I think that parts of this were filmed in Colorado, Utah, and central or eastern Tennessee, right?
