I'd argue that no entertainer in the history of media was ever ridiculed more harshly and unfairly... especially when you look back on things in the proper context and compare to others. If you don't believe me, just watch his appearance on Arsenio Hall and try to think of any other young performer that was ever treated like that. It has nothing to do with his music... like that or don't like it on it's own merits, but he was attacked more personally than almost anyone I can ever think of.
