Widowermaker EP (1989)

I don't know just how it started

A week I covered up of the sky high

His body and his mind had parted

You can see it happen in his eyes

I don't know just what they're for

Cones and rods and bars and arrows

Dots and dashing eyes that roll right into sight and out

Out of control

I don't know just what they're there for

Flashing lights and passing near us

Dashing eyes with dots that roll right in my mouth and out

Out of control

I don' know just how it happened

There was glass in from ofthe sky high

My body and my face got shattered

I hope I'm together when I die

That's the British version of the WidowerMaker (1404 was a reference to the address of the house they lived at around that time), I think. It's called 'The Colored FBI Guy' on the American version. The track listing is also quite different; with 'Helicopter' being at the start instead of the end.

no worries, fellow, They'll have all their own weird shit and trippy lives that will provide them with plenty of issues to get old and grumpy about when they watch other people grow up. It's awesome. It's like a cycle that never ends!

most bands from 90-->now, you can pretty-much just lump into either 1 Surfers song or record.

@ Gr8trEliminatr ....going to concerts back in the 70s was an EXPERIENCE. Nothing like today, some of my best memories, Billy Preston, Nazareth, Deep Purple, Robin Trower, Heart, Rare Earth, the list goes on,

@turkeypantz Indeed, I also envy the older generation to actually witness the music and concerts. A totally different world. Yet it's great to hear story's about the "ol' days".

first heard this on a copy of a copy of a copy of a cassette, in 1991. I envy that today's youth can get any music so easily, from the internet. But I feel bad that they can never know the feeling, of the right-of-passage, in acquiring "hard to find" music like this song was for me.

Reminds me of San Fransisco in the late '80's What a great time that was for me.
